Villa Aquatic’s Dive Team located in the heart of Fairfax, Virginia just outside Washington D.C. is accepting applications for an experienced Head Dive Coach and possibly an Assistant Dive Coach.  Come be a part of our dedicated coaching team and lead our divers for the 2014 summer season.

Applicants should have strong diving skills and be able to impart safety, sportsmanship, good teaching/coaching, and instruction/demonstration in a fun, team spirited environment. Strong communication, positive, upbeat attitude and organizational skills are a must. The Head Dive Coach will lead our team by organizing, directing and coaching all practices/meets, leading and mentoring an assistant coach if applicable, and maintain excellent communications with parents and divers.  Prior dive coaching experience strongly preferred. Current Lifeguard certificate, CPR, and pool operator's license required. NVSL Coaching clinic and at least one year of college helpful.

Villa Aquatic, a Division 6 team, has approximately 30 divers ranging from novice to all-star level. Coaches must be able to attend all practices and 5 meets beginning May 27-July 27. Practices are held before school gets out M-F, 4- 6:30 pm and after school ends 8am-noon. Competitive salary offered. Lakeside School, an independent coeducational day school located in North Seattle, is currently recruiting for a head swimming coach and swimming program head for the 2014 -15 school year. The girls swim season begins Monday, August 25 and concludes on Saturday, November 15. The boys season begins on Monday, November 17 and concludes on Saturday, February 21.  Out-of-season program management responsibilities would commence at a mutually agreeable date no later than Monday, July 7 and would continue through the 2014-15 school year.
The head swimming coach and swimming program head, reporting to the director of athletics, will join a thriving athletics program that includes 24 varsity teams, most of which have both sub-varsity and middle-school counterparts.  The swimming program consists of two large teams, one for girls and one for boys, at the Upper School.  Both teams have had great success at the league, district, and state levels in recent years. The head swimming coach and swimming program head is directly responsible for the coaching and management of both teams, as well as management of the overall swimming program.  Specific responsibilities include:
•           Development of a long-term vision for the swimming program and teaching curriculum to support that vision;
•           Hiring and management of coaching staff (generally two assistant coaches in each season);
•           Oversight of the program budget, including coordination of any fundraising activities;
•           Maintenance and inventory of program equipment and apparel;
•           Development of practice and competition schedules;
•           Management of appropriate out-of-season activities;
•           Support of multi-sport participation for student-athletes;
•           Promotion of balanced achievement in all areas of school life for student-athletes; and
•           Compliance with all Lakeside School and WIAA policies and procedures.
Requirements and Qualifications
Successful candidates must be 21 years of age, possess a valid Washington State driver’s license, be available for all practices and competitions during the spring coaching season, and be available for regular meetings and other activities year-round.  Experience coaching swimming at the club, high school or college level is required, with head coaching and/or program management experience strongly preferred.  Additionally, candidates must satisfactorily complete a criminal background check and must possess or obtain prior to the start of their season current First Aid, CPR, and lifeguarding certifications.

Henderson State University is located in Arkadelphia, AR about an hour southwest of Little Rock on I-30 and 30 minutes southeast of Hot Springs.  The Reddies compete at the Division II level and swim in the New South Intercollegiate Swim Conference.  

Job Description: 

Henderson State University is seeking applicants for the position of Graduate Assistant Swimming Coach.  The successful applicant must meet the admission requirements for Henderson State Graduate School.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: coaching, recruiting, team travel, planning and preparation for meets and practices, as well as dryland training and weights.  All responsibilities must be in compliance with institutional and NCAA rules and regulations.  Graduate Assistant positions include tuition and a stipend.

Teaching of a 1 hour beginning swimming or lifetime fitness class under the supervision of the Head Swimming Coach is also required. 


Bachelor’s degree required as well as full admittance into a Graduate Program.  It is highly recommended that candidates be seeking a degree in Sports Administration, but not required.  The ability to work responsibly with minimal supervision and the flexibility to travel, work weekends and evenings are necessary for this position.  Selected candidate must also pass the NCAA recruiting examination.

Responsible for the management and administration of all facets of the men's and women's swimming and diving program to ensure a quality program and successful Division 1 team. Adheres to the philosophy and objectives of the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. Recruits athletes and oversees their training. Monitors and supports academic success of student athletes. Builds and maintains a public awareness of the program. Oversees natatorium management and operations. Interacts professionally with all internal and external customers using strong interpersonal skills.

Minimum Qualifications: 

Bachelor's degree. Three to five years progressively responsible swimming coaching experience at the collegiate level or equivalent. Knowledge of and commitment to NCAA rules. Commitment to student athletes' academic success. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Valid driver's license and ability to establish driver eligibility under the University's Driving and Motor Vehicle Policy. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

Head coaching experience in collegiate swimming or equivalent. Successful recruiting experience. Familiarity with the northeastern Ohio region. Demonstrated commitment to diversity. Coaching experience in a metropolitan college/university environment.

The Oberlin College Department of Athletics and Physical Education invites applications for the position of Assistant Coach of Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving.  This is a full-time, 12-month Administrative and Professional Staff position, reporting to the Director of Athletics and Physical Education and working with the Head Coach of Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving.


This position will be responsible for assisting the Head Coach of Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving in all aspects of coaching, recruiting and administering the Swimming and Diving Program.  The incumbent will also have secondary administrative and physical education faculty teaching responsibilities within the department.


Bachelor's degree required, a Master’s degree is preferred; three years coaching and/or relevant competitive experience; solid administrative skills and the ability to motivate staff and volunteers to achieve administrative goals; excellent written and oral communication skills; basic familiarity, appreciation, and empathy with the role of intercollegiate athletics and its relationship to the College, and the capacity to articulate that role and interact comfortably with those individuals and constituency groups (student-athletes, alumni, coaches, parents, etc.); high motivation with a capacity for hard work within the context of an intensely goal-oriented environment.  Current certification as America Red Cross (or equivalent) Lifeguard Training Instructor is highly recommended.  Knowledge of Hy-Tek Meet and Team Manager Software is desirable as well.   


Within the range established for this position, salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications, and includes an excellent benefits package.

Trinity College, a highly academic ranked liberal arts institution located in Hartford, CT, is accepting applications for the position of Head Men’s & Women’s Swimming and Diving Coach. The College is a member of the New England Small College Athletic Conference and a NCAA Division III member sponsoring 29 varsity sports. In addition to coaching responsibilities, the new coach will also teach physical education classes in our lifetime sports curriculum and have an administrative duty. A bachelor’s degree is required with a master’s degree preferred. Also, three to five years of coaching experience is needed, preferably at the intercollegiate level, and the candidate must be knowledgeable of the NESCAC and NCAA Division III philosophies. The salary will be commensurate with the education and experience of the candidate and the starting date for this multi-year contract position will be July 1, 2014. This is a non-tenure track faculty position.
