Olivet College is located in south central Michigan in the town of Olivet, MI, approximately 3o minutes from Lansing and Battle Creek. 
Olivet College is seeking applicants for an Assistant Coach, Men’s and Women’s Swimming & Diving. Olivet College is a member of the NCAA Division III and MIAA.
This is a part-time, 9 month position that includes campus housing and a stipend. Tuition remission is also available if candidate would like to pursue a bachelor’s or master’s degree.  


The Assistant Coach assists the Head Coach with all aspects of the Swimming and Diving programs including on deck coaching at practices and meets, recruiting qualified student-athletes, and program administration. Evening and weekend hours are required.


Bachelor’s degree is required. CPR/First Aid and Lifeguard certifications are required. The applicant should have strong communication skills, both oral and written, as well as coaching experience at the college and/or high school levels. Familiarity with the college recruitment and enrollment process is preferred.

Lake Erie College, located in Painesville, OH, invites applications for the position of head coach, swimming & diving.  The coach is responsible for recruiting and organization of the College’s swimming & diving program.
Lake Erie College is an NCAA Division II program that currently competes in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).  Recent successes within the program include individual national qualifiers, All-Americans and top 25 national team finishes.  Teams train at the world-renowned SPIRE Institute, home to an Olympic and Paralympic training site.   


  • Serves as recruiter for the sports of swimming & diving, identifying and evaluating potential students with that interest and organizing their recruitment in conjunction with the Office of Admissions.
  • Organizes, in conjunction with the director of athletics, all aspects of the swimming & diving program, including facility, meet, practice and operational issues.
  • Acts as a visible person to represent the College in a positive manner and to heighten the awareness of the institution to all of its constituents.
  • Works closely with the promotional and fundraising efforts of the athletic department.
  • Follows all institutional and NCAA regulations regarding recruiting and operations of swimming & diving in particular and athletics in general.
  • Makes budgetary suggestions regarding the proper operation and staffing of the areas of responsibility.
  • Projects and promotes the highest standards for student actions in order to best prepare them as solid citizens and alumni.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.
  • Must have demonstrated ability to recruit prospective student-athletes.
  • Knowledge and specialization in intercollegiate coaching of designated sport required.
  • Must have strong team building and management skills.
  • Must have ability to work across academic and administrative departments in a cooperative manner.

  • Must have demonstrated experience in program development, management and leadership.
  • Ability to supervise regular and temporary staff as well as understand the student-athletes' commitment to academics.
  • Professional network with high schools and coaches in Ohio, Michigan and Pennsylvania preferred.
  • Previous head coaching experience preferred. 

Special Requirements:

Qualified applicants must have the availability to work evenings and weekends, possess a valid driver’s license for transportation of team in vans or bus and the ability to travel for team practices, competition and recruiting. 
Under the NCAA Bylaw 11.1.6 Sports-Safety Training, each head coach and all other coaches who are employed full time at an institution shall maintain current certification in first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automatic external defibrillator (AED) use.

Under the direct supervision of the Head Coach assisting in the coordination of an intercollegiate athletic program, must have an understanding of technical knowledge of the sport of Swimming with the ability to help develop the student-athlete to their full potential, as well as ensure each student-athlete is given the best experience possible.
Duties may include, but are not limited to: the recruitment of student-athletes. Ensure compliance with NCAA guidelines for contacting prospects. Provide leadership and instruction in the personal and athletic development of student-athletes, including counseling team members in academic, disciplinary and personal matters, when appropriate.
Work with the head coach in scheduling and conducting regular practice sessions. Develop and implement strategies for motivating student-athletes to perform at maximum levels as both individuals and a team. Assist with approved fund raising activities. Enforce policies and procedures outlined in student-athlete handbook, team rules and apply appropriate disciplinary action.
Additional duties as assigned by head coach and any senior level administrator.
Must perform above duties with the highest standard of professionalism and ethical behavior and in accordance with University, Departmental, CCC or other affiliated Conference and NCAA regulations, policies and procedures.

Ideal applicant will have experience as a competitive swimmer and as a competitive swimming coach at the club, high school, or college level, as well as a desire to learn and grow as a coach. This is an unpaid position but there are other opportunities for outside the athletic department that are not associated with this position.

Women’s Diving Responsibilities: Directly responsible for the development of a season long diving program, including the development of successful and challenging practices, meet preparation, and the personal development of the student athletes. A bachelors degree is required but a masters degree is preferred. Lifeguard certification (including current CPR, AED, and First Aid) certification required upon hire. The successful candidate will assist the head coach in all aspects of the men’s and women’s swimming program including recruiting, coaching, and meet day operations.  In addition this person will be responsible for aquatics programming and supervision of the aquatics staff and teaching a responding to emergencies course (1 day/week 3 hrs) one semester. They will be expected to adhere to all NCAA Division III, SUNYAC, and SUNY Geneseo rules, policies, regulations and procedures. This is a part-time 10-month position with benefits.  


Bachelor’s degree required. One to three years coaching experience is required.  Previous collegiate coaching is preferred.  Aquatic management experience is preferred.

Kenyon College invites applications for the position of Senior Assistant Swimming Coach. This is a full-time 10-month appointment with flexibility to set work hours appropriate to the needs of the program. The position includes a generous benefits package.

Kenyon College, a highly selective liberal arts college of 1600 students, is a Division III member of the NCAA and is a founding member of the North Coast Athletic Conference. Kenyon offers twenty-two varsity sports, eleven for men and eleven for women. The college is located in the beautiful village of Gambier, 50 miles northeast of Columbus, Ohio.

The Senior Assistant Swimming Coach will provide assistance for the Head Coach in all areas — including but not limited to: men’s and women’s recruiting, on-deck coaching, student-athlete advising, strength training and conditioning, data collection and management, travel arrangement, equipment tracking, and budget management. Additionally, when the Men’s and Women’ programs compete at separate sites the Senior Assistant Coach will serve as a peer to other Head Coaches at the site of competition. The successful candidate will exemplify leadership in the management of a successful collegiate swimming program. The candidate should show a strong desire to pursue a career in collegiate coaching at the NCAA Division I, II or III level.

The University of Illinois at Chicago, a member of the Horizon League who competes at the Division I level in 20 sport programs is accepting applications for the position - Full Time (12 Month) Assistant Varsity Coach – Men's and Women’s Swimming.
