Description: 

Colgate University, an NCAA Division I member institution and a member of the Patriot League, invites applications for the position of Assistant Swimming Coach.  This is a full-time position with health benefits that begins immediately.    A bachelor’s degree is required.  Playing and/or coaching experience at the collegiate level is preferred.   The candidate should possess strong interpersonal/communication skills with the ability to maintain effective interaction with student-athletes in a challenging academic environment.  Instructional knowledge is a must with the ability to organize practices that promote individual skill development and team concepts.  The individual hired will be responsible for assisting the head coach in all phases of the swimming program, within university, conference and NCAA rules and regulations, and will serve as the Assistant Aquatics Director.  A valid driver’s license is required.  A valid Red Cross Certification in Lifeguard Training, CPR, and First Aid is preferred.

Description: 

The applicant’s primary responsibility will be to serve as the Head Coach for both the men’s and women’s swimming and diving program, including but not limited to: coaching, recruiting qualified student athletes, fund raising, camps, developing practice schedules, building community support for the program, monitoring academic progress of student athletes, and knowledge-able of applicable NCAA rules. Also serves as an Instructor for Exercise and Health Studies.

Qualifications: Bachelors degree required and Masters degree preferred. Minimum of four years of coaching experience at the collegiate level required or demonstrated successful head coaching experience on the high school level as well as the educational background and expertise to teach college level courses.   Candidates must have the ability to manage multiple tasks, possess excellent written and oral skills, have knowledge of computer applications and organizational abilities.  Candidate must be knowledgeable of event planning and camps, financial management, fund raising, and recruiting.  Candidate must demonstrate commitment to and/or experience working with diverse populations.  Must be able to work weekends/evenings and travel.
 
Starting Date: July 1, 2013 (or as soon as possible thereafter)
Salary: Commensurate with Experience

Wabash College is searching for a highly motivated person who will assist the head coach in all aspects of the Men's Swimming and Diving program as well as hold the position of assistant aquatics director. The position is a 10 month full time appointment that will run from August 1 until May 31. SUNY Geneseo, having built a distinctive intercollegiate athletic program characterized by and nationally honored for its commitments to community service, student leadership development and sportsmanship, seeks an industrious assistant coach and recruiter to assist in the oversight and development of our nationally competitive men’s and women’s swimming and diving program. 
 
The successful candidate will possess, at minimum, a bachelor’s degree and a record of accomplishment as a student-athlete, and current CPR/AED, lifeguard, and WSI certifications.  Preferred candidates will possess previous collegiate coaching experience; aquatic management experience; and demonstrated ability to improve the performance of competitive swimmers and divers.
 
The assistant coach will assist the head coach in all aspects of the men’s and women’s swimming program, including meet day operations, in full accordance with NCAA Division III, SUNYAC, and SUNY Geneseo regulations and procedures.
 
This is a part-time, ten month position with a salary of $22,000 and benefits, with a starting date of August 2013.
