Brown University invites applications for the position of Assistant Coach, Women’s Swimming.  This position assists the Head Women’s Swimming & Diving Coach in all phases (coaching, recruiting and administrative duties).  This includes recruiting, video analysis, coaching, and administrative duties such as maintaining logs and other compliance information.  Supervise and manage the day-to-day operations of the teams, including teaching, coaching and fundraising activities; provide support for the vision and strategies of the head coach.  Assistant coach will be responsible for maintaining professional conduct, positive sportsmanship and acting as a role model for the student-athletes.   

Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s Degree required; One to three years coaching experience at the collegiate and/or high school level and competitive collegiate swimming experience preferred; collegiate coaching experience preferred; Ability to recruit within and knowledge & understanding of NCAA and Ivy League rules, Strong organizational, creative writing, interpersonal, oral communication, computer skills needed; Knowledge and experience with word, excel, power point, iMovie, and social media (facebook, twitter, etc.) preferred; Commitment to the student-athlete, passion for the sport, and ability to coach and motivate.  The successful candidate for this position will be required to complete a criminal background and DMV checks satisfactory to Brown University prior to commencing employment.

Responsible to the Head Coach for performing or assisting with a wide variety of coaching duties in order to accomplish the goals and objectives of the teams.  Assist with coaching the Intercollegiate Mens and Womens Swimming Teams.  Plan, organize and conduct recruiting campaigns.  Coordinate meet and tournament arrangements. Plan, organize and conduct team practices.  Assist with travel arrangements and office duties.  Assist in conducting clinics, camps and workshops.  Adhere to University, conference and NCAA rules and regulations while supporting the core values of intercollegiate.

Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.

Lincoln College is currently seeking a part-time/seasonal diving coach. Lynx Swimming & Diving teams are a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).
 
Responsibilities: Practice preparation, diving instruction and recruitment. Organizing diving list for meets, judging in the meets, therefore have an understanding of the NJCAA and NCAA diving rules.
 
Duties include general coordination and development of the leadership model of respect, communication, collaboration, and cooperation for “Team Success.” Successful candidate will help provide a safe & welcoming environment for all student-athletes in line with the vision and mission of recruiting for the Lincoln College competitive experience.
 
Qualifications: Experience as a competitive diver and coaching experience at the high school, club or college level is required. A college degree is preferred.
 
Opportunities: Additional income could include starting a diving lesson program, a dive camp and dive clinics for area High School divers.
