University of Mary Women's Swimming & Diving Coach

Founded in 1959 by the Benedictine Sisters of Annunciation Monastery, Mary offers a faithfully Christian, joyfully Catholic and gratefully Benedictine university of over 3,000 students and 500 employees in locations in North Dakota, Minnesota, Montana, Kansas, Arizona, Rome, Italy and Arequipa, Peru as well as vibrant online offerings.

A successful candidate will direct and oversee all aspects of the swimming program. The candidate will identify, recruit, retain and develop student-athletes. The first year of competition for the swim team will take place during the 2016-17 academic year. The duties of the head women’s swimming coach will be to manage all components of a nationally competitive NCAA Division 2 II women’s swimming program including compliance with policies and rules of the University of Mary, the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference, and the NCAA.  Desired minimum qualifications, education, and experience includes a bachelor’s degree with previous swim coaching experience preferred.  Experience in stroke, technique, sprint, and distance distinction along with the ability to arrange and conduct both dry land and pool workouts effectively.

Required qualifications include:

·         Upholding and respecting the Christian, Catholic, Benedictine mission of the University of Mary.

·         Supporting the ongoing implementation of Ex Corde Ecclesiae, the apostolic constitution on Catholic colleges and universities.

·         Building a culture of ready and earnest hospitality in the Athletics Office and throughout the university in accord with Saint Benedict’s admonition that all be received as Christ.
