Swim Across America Program Manager

Swim Across America, founded in 1987 is a 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to raising money for cancer research, prevention and treatment through swimming-related events. With the help of thousands of volunteers nationwide and more than 100-Olympians, SAA provides millions of dollars in critical funding to hospital research labs that are conducting life saving research and treatment to defeat cancer. SAA, through our local community partners, operates and promotes 15 open water swimming events across and nearly 100 pool events that raise money for nationally renowned hospitals across the country. In 2015, SAA generated $6.3 million in donor contributions and awarded nearly $5 million to our partners.

Job Location

The Program Manager position is based in the SAA headquarters in Charlotte, NC

Responsibilities include but are not necessarily limited to:

Support Swim Across America’s CEO and Directors on projects including those related to marketing, operational efficiencies, corporate sponsorship, etc.
●      Develop and create key presentations in PowerPoint and excel
●      Provide gold standard support to Swim Across America’s event directors
●      Provide gold standard customer service to SAA participants, donors, and partners (ie: vendors, beneficiaries)
●      Manage the depositing and recording process of donor checks
●      Manage all aspects of the matching gift process as well as relationships with matching gift corporations
●      Maintain the accuracy of the SAA database by cleaning records, making changes to constituent records, etc.
●      Manage the acknowledgement and tax receipt process mailed to donors
●      Manage our invoice and accounts payable process
●      Oversee the SAA website; ensure that content is up to date, relevant, and reflects the best information possible
●      Manage, organize, coordinate, ship and track SAA collateral and merchandise that is shipped to our various event locations
●      Outreach via phone and e-mail to help swimming clubs establish a pool swim that will benefit SAA
●      Communicate with the SAA Beneficiary Committee to coordinate, distribute and collect beneficiary grant reports
●      Organize and coordinate files stored on our cloud services such as DropBox and Google Docs

Qualifications

SAA is a small and passionate staff; less than 5. A team player who won’t say “that is not my job”
●      Impeccable customer service skills
●      The ability to multitask, stay organized, focused and positive in a fast paced environment
●      A problem solve ability of day-to-day issues on behalf of staff, event directors, donors and participants
●      Aptitude for using cloud based services such as DropBox and Google Docs
●      Demonstrated experience creating Powerpoint presentations and Excel data sheets
●      Passion to work for a cause related business
●      Bachelors degree

 Compensation
