Towson University is a Division I member of the Colonial Athletics Association. Under the direction of the head coach, this position teaches and provides instruction in the sport of swimming and assists in the planning, promotion and administration of a quality Division I Men's & Women's Swimming & Diving program.
Provide skill instruction for student athletes including independent planning and implementation of a season long plan for a set group of athletes; recruit and evaluate prospective student-athletes through the use of New Media Technologies; organize official visits including assigning host, creating travel itineraries, and managing all budgetary elements of visits while adhering to all NCAA regulations; assist with academic support, fundraising activities, and community service; coordinate with Life Skills Program director and track and maintain accurate records of all student-athletes' participation in Life Skills programs; assist with all Game Day operations including travel, bus, hotel, and restaurant plans; complete monthly CARA logs, recruiting logs and other end-of-year summaries and correspondence within JUMPForward and in coordination with the Compliance Office; and other duties as assigned by Head Coach.
Early morning, nights and weekends hours are required based upon the team schedule of practices, competition, recruiting and community service.
Bachelor's degree and coaching experience at the collegiate, high school, and/or camp/clinic level. The selected candidate must have working knowledge of NCAA and Conference rules relevant to all aspects of the men's and women's swimming program; general knowledge of Microsoft Office products; and certifications in CPR, Lifeguard Training, First Aid, AED and Coaches Safety Training.
Master's degree and experience as a student-athlete preferred.
