Barton College Assistant Men's & Women's Swimming Coach

Barton College is accepting applications for Assistant Coach of Men’s and Women’s Swimming, a  part-time position with a start date of December 4, 2017. Barton College Athletics is a member of the Conference Carolinas and competes at the NCAA Division II level. 


Duties as the Assistant Swimming Coach include, but are not limited to: assist in the recruitment and retention of a team for each gender that meets departmental roster goal numbers; practice and meet coaching; conducting skill instruction sessions; providing leadership to facilitate academic and personal success by the team’s student-athletes; performance of other administrative tasks necessary in coaching both teams; involvement in the Wilson community with activities such as team community service work, camps, youth clinics, and promotion of the sport.

Some travel is required.


Minimum requirements include: Coaching or swimming background on the collegiate level.  Academic credit towards an undergraduate education. A valid driver’s license is required.

Preferred requirements include: Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization; college administrative experience; and knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations. 

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation is a $3000.00 stipend to assist with the men’s and women’s swim team through May 15, 2018.  Supplemental salary opportunities are available with the local USA swim club.  Evaluation of applications will begin immediately and continue until position is filled.  Learn more about Barton College at
