Whittier College, a NCAA Division III institution and member of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference in Whittier, CA is accepting applications for the position of Head Men’s and Women’s Swimming & Diving Coach. This is a full-time, 12-month, benefited position. Reporting to the Director of Aquatics, the Head Coach will be responsible for organizing, developing and administering the men’s and women’s swimming and diving program, including budget preparation and the supervision of a part-time assistant coach and graduate fellow: emphasis on recruiting and retaining student athletes and daily instruction in practice. The individual must also be dedicated to enhancing student-athlete development and building a successful and respected program. They will also be responsible for exhibiting a strong commitment toward adhering to Whittier College policies and guidelines.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required. Previous experience in coaching is essential, preferably at the college level. The ability to relate well to the college community, including students, faculty and alumni, as well as the general public and media is expected. The candidate will also be responsible for the full educational development of the student athletes in the program and must possess a thorough understanding and working knowledge of NCAA Division III regulations. Background check will be conducted: a valid driver’s license and good driving record required.
