St. Joseph's College, a 4-year College located in Patchogue, New York invites applications for the position of Head Women's Swim Coach/ Aquatics Director. SJC-LI participates on the NCAA Division III level and is a full member of the Skyline Conference.
Job Description: This position is a full-time position with benefits that reports to the Director of Athletics. The person in this position is responsible for running a competitive women's swim program which includes but is not limited to providing leadership/direction to student-athletes and assistant coaches, identifying and recruiting academically and athletically talented student-athletes, retention, scheduling, budget oversight and complying with NCAA/Conference/College rules and regulations. The candidate is expected to represent the College on campus and within the community while providing a positive experience for student-athletes.
In addition as Aquatics Director, this individual is responsible for the overall operation of the Natatorium which includes but is not limited to hiring and supervision of lifeguards, aquatic programming & classes and general maintenance/upkeep of the facility.
Candidate must demonstrate a strong professional work ethic and unwavering commitment to the academic success of students. She/he must also demonstrate success in coaching swim, recruiting student-athletes and strong motivation, organizational and communication skills. A minimum of 3 years assistant coach experience, or 2 years head coach experience (prefer head coach experience) at the college or high school level. Playing experience and a BS/BA in related field required. Certifications should include CPR/AED/FA, Lifeguard, WSI and CPO.
