MInimum of a Bachelor's degree required, as well as four years of collegiate swimming experience and a minimum of two years of coaching experience at the collegiate level and/or two years as a lead senior club and/or high school coach. Regional understanding of USA club swimming and a strong understanding of NCAA Division II swimming.
THe successful candidate should be self-motivated and possess the ability to recruit, teach and coach highly talented studnet-athletes who can succeed in a challenging academic environment and possess effective communication skills. Candidates are actively sought for this position who demonstrate awareness of and sensitivity to diverse cultural backgrounds and a commitment to a broadly diverse community.
Duties include but are not limited to planning practices, coaching, recruiting, traveling, and running camp programs (when applicable). In addition, the Assistant Coach will conduct competitions at the University, monitor student-athlete academics, and oversee fundraising. This person will follow institutional and NCAA rules, policies and procedures and perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach. Opportunities are available to augment this position with the local club swimming team, as well as swimming lesson program and camps.
