The Albion College Department of Athletics invites applications for the position of Assistant Swimming Coach. This is a full-time, 10-month administrative position with employment beginning August 1st, 2018. Albion College offers 23 intercollegiate sports as a NCAA Division III liberal arts institution and a member of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association. This position will be responsible for supporting the Head Coach in all aspects of leading Albion College’s NCAA Division III Men’s and Women’s Swimming & Diving program. This position will also serve as a wellness instructor.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: a) create and implement practice plans, b) instruct up to 1 unit of wellness courses per semester, c) create recruiting plans and relationships that will lead to identifying and attracting outstanding student-athletes, d) provide guidance to student-athletes regarding their academic and overall success, e) participate in fundraising events for the program and athletic department, f)maintain working knowledge of NCAA, MIAA, and Albion College policies and procedures, g) other duties as assigned by the Head Coach or Director of Athletics.

Duration: 10 months per year
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 1 to 2 years of experience coaching at the varsity high school level or higher; or 4 to 5 years of combined experience as a NCAA athlete or student manager and competitive coach
- Must have a valid, or be eligible to obtain, a Michigan driver’s license and clearing initial and periodic driving record checks
- Must have the following or be able to obtain the following certifications: Life Guard Instructor and Water Safety Instructor First Aid/CPR
