Canisius College Swimming and Diving Graduate Assistant (Assistant Coach)


Position Length: Aug. 15, 2018 through May 15, 2019

Supervisor: Scott Vanderzell - Head Coach, Canisius Swimming and Diving

Requirements: Certified in life guarding/CPR/AED; Previous college or club-level coaching experience.


On-deck coaching and assistance with practice planning. The successful candidate is expected to attend all practices, unless there is a class conflict or they are excused by the head coach.

Assist the head coach with event planning, such as clinics, home meets and road trips.

Participate in the implementation of the program’s recruiting plan.

The successful candidate will participate in, and be expected to pass, the NCAA recruiting exam in order to be permit- ted to scout prospective student-athletes off campus.

Assist with equipment and uniform orders.

The successful candidate will conduct themselves with maturity. Their actions should make it clear that they are an assistant coach, and not a student-athlete.

Other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Compensation: Six (6) tuition waivers + $7,000 stipend per year

Graduate Program: Must be enrolled in a graduate program at Canisius College: ( graduate-admissions)
