Florida Institute of Technology Assistant Swimming Coach


Florida Institute of Technology is searching for an Assistant Swimming Coach for the Athletics department.  This is a full-time position.  


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist in the organization and implementation of regular practice sessions, competitions, fundraising and community service projects
  • Act as supervisor/head coach representative in the absence of the head coach
  • Develop and teach strategies for motivating student-athletes to perform at maximum levels as both individuals and a team, while promoting the academic and athletic development of the student-athletes
  • Responsible for assisting with the oversight of the Florida Tech Aquatic Center, including operations, maintenance and upkeep of equipment
  • Assist in all aspects of the recruitment process from inception to completion including: the development of recruitment plans, targeting potential student-athletes for recruitment purposes, and making recommendations
  • Assist with coordination and implementation of travel arrangements
  • Responsible for complying with the policies and guidelines established by the NCAA, Sunshine State Conference (SSC), University and Athletics Department for conducting a varsity sport


Education / skills required:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited school
  • Minimum of one year of college coaching experience
  • Knowledge of NCAA, Division II compliance rules and regulations desired
  • Good interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills preferred
  • Ability to work / travel afternoons, evenings and weekends is necessary
