Oberlin College invites applications for the position of assistant men's and women's swim coach. This is a full-time 10-month, administrative and professional staff position reporting to the Director of Athletics and Physical Education and the Head Swimming & Diving Coach.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required and Master’s degree preferred. Previous swimming coaching and competitive experience at the collegiate level is strongly preferred. Certification in CPR, First Aid and AED is required. The successful candidate is expected to complete several other trainings and professional development activities as they are offered at the university.
Responsibilities: Assist the head coach in managing all aspects of a NCAA Division III men's and women’s swimming program. The top priority must be the overall collegiate experience of the student-athlete and enhancing a positive and healthy team culture that encourages growth and development.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: oversight of student-athlete academic progress; recruitment of appropriate student-athletes; planning and direction of team training sessions and meet days; film assessments, planning the teams’ annual training trip; tracking of team budgets; ordering team supplies and equipment; fund raising and alumni relations; coordination of team travel; and any other duties as needed.
A secondary role involving assistance with the aquatics program will be assigned as well.
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
