Position Description: Head Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving Coach

Norwich University, a member of the NCAA Division III and Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC), is currently seeking applications for a Head Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving Coach. The position is a full-time, ten-month appointment with a comprehensive benefits package.
Norwich University sponsors 20 varsity athletic programs as well as a vibrant offering of club sports, intramural, fitness and outdoor recreational activities. Norwich, located in Central Vermont, is a four year, private military institution with a civilian population serving 2,300 students.
Candidates are responsible for the administration and management of all aspects of a successful and competitive varsity swimming program. A Bachelor’s degree is required, however a Master’s degree is preferred. Responsibilities include the ability to recruit and retain qualified student-athletes, practice and meet preparations, student-athlete development, academic monitoring, coaching, budget management, travel coordination, hire, supervise and mentor an assistant coach and work study students, and other areas of sport management. In addition, the candidate will serve as the Director of Goodyear Pool with oversight of lifeguards and scheduling internal and external programs. The ideal candidate will have previous college competitive swimming experience, previous college coaching experience and an understanding of the Division III philosophy. Candidates must also possess strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
