The Texas Athletics’ vision statement is “Texas Athletics will define what it means to be the world's best intercollegiate athletics program, instilling the passion, knowledge, and character for all student-athletes to compete to win, to succeed academically, to achieve their dreams in life, and to contribute to society.” In alignment with this vision, Texas Women’s Swimming and Diving is seeking a Volunteer Assistant Coach.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: assisting the head and associate head coaches in daily on-deck coaching, implementation of training, practice and competition protocol; adherence to Texas Athletic, University, Big 12 Conference and NCAA rules and regulations; communicate effectively with faculty, coaches, administration, employees, alumni, and most importantly the student-athletes.
This position is designated as a Responsible Employee, pursuant to Title IX and University policy. Responsible Employees have a duty to promptly report incidents as per policy to the University Title IX Coordinator or Deputy Title IX Coordinators. Responsible Employees are not confidential reporting resources.
Negotiable, but not later than August 2019
Varies, expected to attend practice and competition; early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays; some travel may be required; hours per week varies based on program needs.
Demonstrated consistency of positive attitude, enthusiasm, and excellent demeanor around student-athletes, employees and the program as a whole
Demonstrated willingness to learn and contribute to the success of the program Demonstrated excellent communication skills: both oral and written
Excellent computer skills
Selected candidate must pass the NCAA recruiting examination within the first month of hire.
First Aid, AED and CPR certification within one month of hire.
· Competitive experience in swimming, preferably at the collegiate level
