NAIA All-Americans Named

The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) selected their NAIA All-America team..  In total, 75 female and 72 male students were selected.  The SCAD-Savannah men and women each had a dozen selections while the National Champions of Olivet Nazarene placed eleven students on the team.

Endowing a Program

Over the past couple of days this video, unveiling the campaign to endow the scholarships of the Texas Men’s Swimming and Diving, has been circulating on the internet. The video is tremendous, featuring legendary coaches, athletes and moments to remind us of the special elements of our sport.  While the video is great, it doesn’t tell the whole story.

Behind the scenes there is significant work and planning to produce a fundraising campaign of this magnitude.

Cal Closes Dual Season at #1

With a 136-105 win over Pac 12 Rival Stanford, the California men's swimming and diving team was voted to the top spot in the final CSCAA / TYR Top 25.  Cal ended the season 5-0. Seniors Ryan Murphy, Hunter Cobleigh, Jon Fiepke, Dillian Williams and Long Guiterrez going a combined 27-1 over their four year careers with the lone setback being a 148.5-19.5 loss to USC last season.

Record Number of Teams Named Fall Scholar All-America

A record 638 teams, representing 394 institutions have been named College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Teams.  The awards are in recognition of teams’ that achieved a grade point average of 3.0 or higher during the 2016 Fall Semester.  Ninety-one additional teams and thirty-six more institutions achieved the honor compared to a year ago.

Texas Women Jump to #1 Cal Continues to Lead Men

Following a dominating 171-124 win over then-number two Georgia, the University of Texas women's swimming and diving team has been voted number one in the latest CSCAA TYR Top 25 Swimming and Diving Poll.   It is the first number-one ranking for the Longhorns in Head Coach Carol Capitani's tenure and drops Stanford University to second and Georgia to third.  Virginia rounded out the top four.
