CSCAA Hands out NAIA Coach & Athlete of the Year Awards

Columbus, Georgia - The NAIA Championships were hosted at the Columbus Aquatic Center in Columbus, Georgia on March 1st through the 4th, and the meet ended in familiar fashion as Keiser (Fla.) took home their fifth-consecutive Men’s NAIA team championship and second-straight Women’s NAIA team title. Swim Coaches of the Year

Head Coach Adam Epstein was recognized as the CSCAA’s NAIA Women’s Coach of the Year. He led the Seahawks to their fifth straight men’s NAIA national title while the the Keiser women secured their second consecutive championship. Head Coach Caesar Asadi was tabbed as the CSCAA’s NAIA Men’s Coach of the Year. The St. Thomas men, under Asadi’s leadership finished second in the national championship meet.

Swimmers of the Year

On the men’s side, Keiser’s Alberto Garcia earned CSCAA Swimmer of the Year after winning all three of his individual races (100 Back, 100 Fly and 100 Free). Garcia’s teammate, Noel De Geus, took home the NAIA Swim of the Meet for his 100 breast national record swim.

For the women, Keiser’s Camryn Hudson was named the CSCAA Swimmer of the Year after winning three individual titles in the 200 IM, 100 Free and 200 Butterfly. Hudson’s teammate, Nikoline Biltoft-Jensen, was recognized with the Swim of the Meet for her record-breaking performance in the 100 breaststroke.

Diver of the Meet

Emma Lehmkuhl of Cumberlands (Ky.) won the CSCAA Diver of the Year award after posting a first-place finish on the three-meter board at the NAIA Championship. Nick Bohm of Bethel (Ind.) took home the one and three-meter diving titles and was was named the CSCAA Diver of the Year.

All America Honors

The CSCAA selected 139 student-athletes for First Team All-America. An additional 42 individuals were named Second Team All-America.
