Emory Men, Kenyon Women back on top in Division III

Emory Men and Kenyon Women claim the top spot in the final Dual Meet Poll

March 8, 2024 - Lewisburg, PA - The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) released the final edition of the Division III Top 25 dual meet poll. The Emory men and Kenyon women have claimed the top positions in this season's final poll.

The committee, consisting of Division III coaches, assesses and ranks the nation's top 25 dual meet teams. Their evaluation takes into account head-to-head dual meet outcomes, performances since the last rankings, season-long performances, dual meet records, roster changes (such as injuries), and data from the SwimCloud Simulator. It's important to note that the poll's objective is not to predict the top finishers in a championship meet format.

On the men's side, the Emory Eagles (468) climb back to the top of our dual-meet polls for the first time since the season debut. Kenyon (451) comes in at second while Williams (442) makes their ascent up eight spots into the top three. NYU (425) and Tufts (391) round out the top 5. Aside from Williams, teams making the most significant leaps include Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, up six spots to ninth, and Pomona-Pitzer jumps four spots to 12th. Hope (17), Bates (20), and Colby (24) make their way from outside of last month's poll into the top 25. In all, 27 programs received votes.

The Kenyon (422) women grab the top spot from rival Denison (409) on the back of an impressive conference championship weekend. Williams (390) comes in at third, while Emory (374) and NYU (358) round out the top 5.  The final poll of the season saw four different teams receive first-place votes, the most all season. Swarthmore made the biggest leap from 16th to 13th. While Amherst
(19) was the only women's program who did not appear last month. Twenty-Six teams received votes.

*While the committee takes conference championship results into account, the poll is meant to rank teams based on how they might perform in a dual-meet setting.

Each committee includes representatives from the four Division III Regions. The women and men committee chairs are Jake Taber (Hope) and Sean Tedesco (USMMA).
