Taber and Pruden Elected as New Division III Representatives to the CSCAA Board of Directors
May 1, 2025 - The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) is proud to announce the election of Jake Taber and Cathleen Pruden as the newest Division III representatives to the CSCAA Board of Directors. Elected by their peers, Taber and Pruden will serve as important voices for Division III swimming and diving programs across the country.
Jake Taber, head coach and alumnus of Hope College, has led the Flying Dutchmen swimming and diving programs with distinction, continuing Hope’s tradition of excellence in the pool and the classroom. In addition to his coaching success, Taber has played a vital role in national visibility for Division III programs, having served for several years as Chair of the CSCAA Division III Polls Committee. His deep commitment to the Division III coaching community and longstanding service to the Association will be an invaluable asset to the Board.
“Jake has a tireless dedication to advancing Division III swimming and diving,” said CSCAA Executive Director Samantha Barany. “His leadership has already helped shape the national conversation through his work on the Division III Top 25 Polls. We are honored to have him bring his passion and insight to our Board of Directors.”
Joining Taber on the Board is Cathleen Pruden, Head Coach at Trinity University and a former All-American student-athlete at Mount Holyoke College. Pruden has quickly risen through the coaching ranks, earning a reputation as a thoughtful leader committed to academic and athletic excellence. Her background reflects a deep investment in student-athlete advocacy, educational development, and the holistic growth of Division III programs.
“Cathleen brings a powerful combination of personal experience and professional excellence,” said Barany. “Her voice, as a strong female leader within our industry, will be critical as we work to ensure that we are providing the best support possible to our Division III community and pushing swimming and diving toward a bright future.”
Taber and Pruden begin their terms immediately, joining the broader CSCAA Board of Directors in its mission to advance and promote collegiate swimming and diving nationwide.
