Caesar Asadi, Head Coach @ St. Thomas (FL)
This experience is truly what you as an individual make of it. As a young head coach, the connections I made and the knowledge I gained is priceless. I was able to build relationships with people that I admire and respect not only as coaches but as people.
The topics were relevant and important for all coaches to know and understand. I learned a lot about my coaching style and how to reach my student-athletes and staff from Susan Teeter.
Being able to be a Jean Freeman Scholar and to represent her ideals and passion of the sport is something that I will carry with me for the rest of my coaching career.
I could not be more honored to have been a part of this, and I look forward to seeing all the wonderful things this cohort does in the collegiate swimming world.

Keaton Burke, Assistant Coach @ Fairfield
I liked the overall structure of the Coach Academy! The topics that were discussed piqued my interest, and I enjoyed having a smaller group to connect with during the annual meetings because it provided me more chances to ask questions and engage in group discussions.

Sydney Kanne, Assistant Coach @ Willamette
I am always trying to learn and grow as a coach, and the Coach Academy gave me an incredible opportunity to do just that. I walked away with new ways of looking at all the intricate parts of our job, and I was happy to share my own thoughts with others. Being able to interact with the other participants and the presenters on a more personal level was great.

Josh Larcom, Head Dive Coach @ FIU
This was my first ever time going to CSCAA convention and I loved it. The Coach Academy was a wonderful experience, especially for new and young coaches. Seeing the sport of swimming & diving from so many perspectives and so many different individuals was great. The fundraising, DISC Assessment, and preparing for your next job presentations were fantastic. As a diving coach, it was great for me to hear so many insights from the swim coaches. I learned quite a bit, and I believe most of the lectures would benefit everyone! Now let’s get more dive coaches in the 2024 Coach Academy!

Michael Licon, Assistant Coach @ New Mexico
As a first-time entrant to the CSCAA Coach Academy and being relatively new in the collegiate coaching sphere, it was great being able to make connections amongst coaches across all divisions. I’m looking forward to participating next year and gaining new insight at the 2024 Coach Academy!

Erik Richardson, Head Coach @ Olivet College
It was great to hear insights from coaches who have been successful. Each speaker was engaging, and I was able to pull at least one thing from everyone to bring into my program and personal coaching philosophy moving forward. It was also nice to meet the other Coach Academy participant coaches who come from all over the country. I may have learned as much from them as the speakers!

Abby String, Assistant Coach at Miami (FL)
As a young coach, I thought the talks were very relevant and informative, which made this experience very productive. I enjoyed meeting other coaches, and learning from more experienced coaches was incredible. I had a wonderful time! I am grateful for the CSCAA for putting on this event.

Vanessa Williamson, Associate Head Coach @ Bates
I was a big fan of Wendy Snodgrass! It was nice to hear from an athletic director's point of view. Susan Teeter’s DISC assessment session was fun and informative. And, the “preparing for your next job, now” panel with Stef Moreno, Tanica Jamison and Jeana Kempe was great, too.
I am very grateful to have been apart of the 2023 Coach Academy Cohort, and I think it's important to offer this opportunity to all coaches. In fact, I credit the Coach Academy with helping me become a head coach within weeks of participating!
