California Men & Virginia Women Ranked #1
Virginia women begin 2022-23 as the unanimous #1 dual meet team.
The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) released the first edition of the 2022-23 Division I Top 25 Dual Meet Rankings. The committee, comprised of Division I coaches and select media outlets, ranks the top 25 teams in the nation based on dual meet strength. The poll does not aim to predict top finishers in a championship meet format. The University of California men and University of Virginia women enter the season as the top dual meet teams in the country.
On the men's side, the California Golden Bears (444 points) tallied sixteen first-place votes while the second-ranked Texas Longhorns (433) took the two remaining first-place votes. Florida (412), NC State (392) and Arizona State (379) round out the top 5. Of the top 25 teams, eighteen appeared on all ballots. A total of thirty one men's teams earned at least one vote.
For the women, the Virginia Cavaliers (450) were unanimously selected as the top team. Stanford ranked second (427). Texas (406) took third, but just one point ahead of the NC State Wolfpack (405). Ohio State (372) ranked fifth. Of the top 25 teams, twenty teams appeared on all ballots. A total of thirty women's teams earned at least one vote.

Top 25 Committees
Each Division I committee includes representatives from the ACC, Big Ten, Big 12, Pac-12 and SEC as well as seven at-large voters from Division 1 Mid-Major programs. The committee chair for the women is Naya Higashijima (SMU) while Bill Roberts (Navy) chairs the men's committee.
