CSCAA Announces 2025 Open Water National Championship in Sarasota, Florida
2025 CSCAA Open Water National Championship will be held at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, Florida.
May 27, 2025 — The College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) is excited to announce that the 2025 CSCAA Open Water National Championship will take place on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at the world-class Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, Florida.
The move to Sarasota marks an exciting new chapter for the championship, which began in Kansas thanks to the vision of Clark Campbell and has most recently been hosted by Florida International University (FIU). The CSCAA extends its sincere gratitude to Randy Horner and the entire FIU team for their years of exceptional support and hospitality at the Biscayne Bay Campus the last few years.
This year, the event will be hosted in partnership with Visit Sarasota, whose enthusiasm and commitment to making this event a success have been tremendous. Nathan Benderson Park, a premier open water venue, offers an ideal setting for student-athletes and fans to experience top-tier competition in a beautiful, vibrant community. From first-rate racing facilities to exciting local attractions and hotel options, Sarasota is a perfect backdrop for this national championship.
As in previous years, the championship is open to all CSCAA member institutions, and participation details—including registration information and hotel accommodations—will be shared on the CSCAA website in the coming weeks. Teams are encouraged to begin planning now and mark their calendars for this can't-miss event.
“This is a tremendous opportunity to showcase collegiate open water swimming in one of the nation's best venues,” said CSCAA Executive Director Samantha Barany. “We’re thrilled to bring this championship to Sarasota and are grateful for our partners at Visit Sarasota for helping make it possible.”
