UIndy Men and Tampa Women top CSCAA November Polls

Tampa women top the polls for first time this season

November 17, 2023 - Lewisburg, PA - The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) released the November edition of Division II Top 25 dual meet poll. The Indianapolis men and Tampa women are the current top dual meet teams in the country. The UIndy men were ranked first in the preseason poll, while the Tampa women were fifth.

The committee, consisting of Division II coaches, assesses and ranks the nation's top 25 dual meet teams. Their evaluation takes into account head-to-head dual meet outcomes, performances since the last rankings, season-long  performances, dual meet records, roster changes (such as injuries), and data from the SwimCloud Simulator. It's important to note that the poll's objective is not to predict the top finishers in a championship meet format.

In the men's category, the Greyhounds secured the top spot in the poll with 268 points, coming in with six first-place votes. Following closely behind were Tampa (259 points) and McKendree (257). The top three men's voting was the tightest across all divisions. Grand Valley (241) makes its way into the top five while Colorado Mesa (231) rounds it out. The team taking the greatest leap was Northern Michigan making their way from 14th to 8th. Ouachita Baptist (20), Davenport (23), Wayne State (24), and Rockhurst (25) all make their debut on the year. In all, 29 programs received votes.

On the women's side, top-ranking Tampa secured 248 points while Colorado Mesa (241) and Indianapolis (218) maintained their positions in the top three. Grand Valley (211) and Northern Michigan (204) finish up the top five. The aforementioned Grand Valley (12th to 4th) and Oklahoma Christian (18th to 9th) made the most significant jumps up the poll. Findlay (14), Davenport (17), Saginaw Valley State (21) and Azusa Pacific (23) make their debuts on the year. Altogether, 31 teams received votes in the ranking.

*Note: votes were collected prior to any Mid-Season Invitationals.

Each committee includes eleven representatives from across the country. The women and men committee chairs are Chris Villa (IUP) and Brent Noble (Indy). This was the first poll of the season.

The remaining polls are scheduled for release on: December 15, January 26, February 9 and Friday March 1. Dates are subject to adjustment.
