CSCAA Welcomes Three New Board Members and Bids Farewell to Outgoing Directors

Rachel Stratton-Mills, head swimming and diving coach at Northwestern University, will serve as the CSCAA President-Elect.

May 6, 2024 - The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) is delighted to announce the election of three new members to its Board of Directors during the 2023-2024 term. Rachel Stratton-Mills, head swimming and diving coach at Northwestern University, will serve as the President-Elect. Kristen Murslack, Assistant Swim Coach at the University of Florida, joins the board as the Assistant Coach Representative. Adam Epstein, Head Swimming Coach at Keiser University, will serve as the NAIA Representative.

Rachel Stratton-Mills brings a wealth of experience to her new role as President-Elect. Stratton-Mills is completing her first year at Northwestern University as the Director of Swimming & Diving. Prior to joining the Wildcats, she spent six years at Arizona State University as the associate head coach.

Kristen Murslack swam at Auburn University, where she earned her undergraduate degree in Exercise Science and her Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration. She joins the CSCAA Board as the Assistant Coach Representative. Currently concluding her third year as an assistant for the Florida Gators, she previously served as an assistant coach at The University of Pittsburgh.

Adam Epstein brings a unique perspective to the board as the NAIA Representative. Epstein enters his eighth year as the head coach of the Keiser University men’s and women’s swimming teams. Named the first-ever coach at Keiser in June of 2016, he recently earned the 2023 CSCAA and NAIA men’s coach of the year.

"We are thrilled to welcome Rachel, Kristen, and Adam to the CSCAA Board of Directors," said Samantha Barany, Executive Director of the CSCAA. "Their expertise and dedication to the sport of swimming will be invaluable as we work to further our mission of protecting and growing collegiate swimming and diving."

The CSCAA also bids farewell to outgoing board members Clark Campbell, Head Swimming Coach at Kansas, and Eric Skelly, Head Coach at Cumberland University. Both Campbell and Skelly have served their term limits with distinction and have made significant contributions to the association.

Clark Campbell served 2 years as the President-Elect, 2 Years as the President and 4 years as the Past-President. From Barany: "Clark's profound grasp of the CSCAA's history has been pivotal to any achievements our organization has attained during my time as Executive Director. He has provided invaluable guidance to both our board and me. Clark has consistently prioritized our mission to protect, preserve, and expand collegiate swimming, demonstrating unwavering dedication and selflessness. I am grateful for his support."

Eric Skelly is exiting the board after exhausting his term limits as the NAIA representative. “Eric assumed the inaugural NAIA position on our board, offering a fresh perspective,” said Barany. “His thoughtful contributions amplified the voice of the NAIA community within the CSCAA membership. This subset of our coaching community holds significant importance, and under Eric's guidance, we have set a new standard for understanding and advocating for their needs.”

The final board meeting of the 2023-2024 term will be held on Sunday, May 5th, followed by the first board meeting of the 2024-2025 term on Monday, May 6th. All meetings will take place in person at the CSCAA Annual Meetings in Indianapolis.
