Record Number of Teams Named Fall Scholar All-America

A record 638 teams, representing 394 institutions have been named College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Teams.  The awards are in recognition of teams’ that achieved a grade point average of 3.0 or higher during the 2016 Fall Semester.  Ninety-one additional teams and thirty-six more institutions achieved the honor compared to a year ago.

Texas Women Jump to #1 Cal Continues to Lead Men

Following a dominating 171-124 win over then-number two Georgia, the University of Texas women's swimming and diving team has been voted number one in the latest CSCAA TYR Top 25 Swimming and Diving Poll.   It is the first number-one ranking for the Longhorns in Head Coach Carol Capitani's tenure and drops Stanford University to second and Georgia to third.  Virginia rounded out the top four.

Change is Coming

A changing of the guard is coming.  Each year about 10% of programs replace their head coach and all signs are pointing towards 2016 being a banner year.  The upcoming vacancies will give many coaches an opportunity to advance their career, but coaching changes, like a slow breaststroker on your medley relay, are a weak link that can make our programs vulnerable.
